Three Arrested in Oroville Suspected of Mail Theft in Yuba County

Oroville police arrested three people suspected of stealing from Home Depot, Walmart and possible mail thefts the evening of  October 27th.  Police were called after a witness reported seeing the suspects leaving a Home Depot with a stolen ice chest full of merchandise.  The witness followed the suspects to the Walmart in Oroville.  Lt. Alan Byers of the Oroville Police Department explains what happened when officers caught up with the suspects at the Walmart .

Upon searching the vehicle the suspects were driving officers found stolen merchandise, mail, credit cards and receipts that belonged to at least 25 victims in the Yuba County area.

It appears that the suspects were stealing items and then attempting to return them for cash refunds.
The suspects remain in custody at the Butte County Correctional Facility. Information regarding the mail theft items has been forwarded to authorities in Yuba County for further investigation.
