The Nevada County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against County Supervisor Terry Lamphier after Lamphier allegedly misused his work computer to look at inappropriate pictures. District Attorney Cliff Newell says Lamphier faces three misdemeanor charges…
The three counts represent three specific dates that Lampier was allegedly in violation– September 30, October 13, and October 16. The charges come after an investigation by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit seized Lamphier’s work computer and personal computers after serving a search warrant on Lamphier at his home in October. The computers were sent to the state for forensic evidence, but Newell says he can’t comment on that part of the investigation…
Lamphier will conclude his term as County Supervisor one week from today (on Monday) and is scheduled to be sworn in to the Grass Valley City Council on January 13. Newell says the timing of the charges, or the investigation, is not politically motivated…
If convicted, Lamphier could serve up to a year in jail and may have to register as a sex offender. Arraignment is scheduled for February 9.
