Three Swings and You’re Out, Suspect Doesn’t Know His Name

It’s a case of three strikes and you’re out….
A suspect goes to jail on a number of charges when he can’t identify himself to law enforcement. Grass Valley police responded to a call of a man causing a nuisance on the corner of Neal and Mill Streets Monday evening. Officers made contact with the suspect near the Grass Valley Library.

The officers then asked the suspect for his identification. At that time things became interesting.

Newberry,-Steven1A records check of Newberry produced two warrants for his arrest so he was taken into custody for the warrants and drug related offenses. Once at the jail Newberry made another mistake.

24 year old Steven Newberry was also charged with bringing drugs into the jail.
