After 17 years of filling every concevible position at the station, Tom Fitzsimmons Thursday  announced he is leaving KNCO to move on to new ventures.

Whether it was sports play by play, or hosting the morning show, or being out in the community, everyone appreciated Tom’s love of the people of Nevada County. Tom shares with us he started at KNCO  as a sports host and play by play announcer. During his tenure, his job titles have included morning show host of both KNCO AM and FM, Program Director, News Director, Operations Manager, and most recently Station Manager. If there was a job that need to be done, Tom knew how to get it done.

For the time being Greg Janetta, the current morning show host on KNCO-FM, will be joining Rita Stevens  on the morning show on KNCO AM.   Greg has filled in for Tom on the AM over the past two years.  As Tom told us, “transistions can be tough.” But he assured us, “We would all be fine”. As Tom says, “This day has to come sometime”.

We have all enjoyed working with and for Tom. We know the community has enjoyed welcoming Tom into their lives every morning, Please join us in wishing Tom well.
