Tough Act To Follow

Disturbing and upsetting to see the headline that Jim Nieto will no longer be principal at Bear River High School.  I have known him for a number of years and Jim has been so dedicated to the kids and the staff at Bear River…I sure hope the Superintendent and the District Board know what they are doing.  A replacement of Mr Nieto’s caliber will be tough to find.

Thanks, Tom, for speaking about the NJUHSD's decision to reassign Mr. Nieto. Those who actually spend time on campus know that this decision was not based on what is happening at Bear River. The staff, parents, and students were united in their support and by all measures, the school has been consistently successful. The community believe the district office is frustrated that BR community has become more vocal in calling the district to be accountable for decisions and actions that have have or can negatively affect the school. They removed Cindy Gordon (last year) and Mr. Nieto (this year), two administrators with strong ties to the school. What message does this send to the community. If you ask district or board what is it they want to happen at BR, they won't answer.
