Ana Acton is Executive Director of Freed Center for Independent living and says some seniors are able to afford their own long term care insurance, but there is a huge gap in between those that are MediCal eligible and those who can afford to pay out of pocket for personal assistance care.
Seniors are still able to weigh in on what services and needs they would like to see funded by filling out a survey that is currently available on the Area 4 Agency on Aging website www.agencyonaging4.org, or they can call 2-1-1.
The results of the survey will determine where money is spent by Area 4 Agency on Aging in the community. Nevada County will be receiving $704,778.
