Transient Injured in Fight in the Woods

A transient in custody after breaking the nose or cheek of another transient. The fight taking place in a wooded area near Sutton Way in Grass Valley. Grass Valley Police responding to an assault call from a pharmacy on Sutton Way.

Officers were able to locate the victim a short distance away.

The officers then conducted an area search and located the suspect, 40 year old Lonnie Smith.

Apparently the victim was on the ground at one point.

Lonnie Smith was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for Battery and Battery causing serious bodily injury.
