Trespassing Woodcutter Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Monday  morning just before 10 a.m. Nevada County Sheriff’s responded to a report of someone trespassing on property on Ridge Road near the Rough and Ready Highway.

Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the property owner had had problems in the past and had a trespass letter of authority on file with the sheriff’s office, stating that if they came in contact with people trespassing or cutting firewood on the property, deputies could arrest them. Deputies approached the individual.

The sheriff says ultimately, deputies were able to determine that Jamie Penkala had given a wrong name, obviously in an attempt to conceal his true identity.

Shae Penkala who is 39 years old was arrested for giving a false name to deputies, trespassing, destroying a stand of timber,  and the outstanding warrants.
