Zinola-Young is facing a number of felonies. In addition to carjacking, he’s also charged with kidnapping, making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and false imprisonment. And since he has a prior strike, Newell says it doubles Zinola-Young’s potential maximum sentence to 30 years in prison, which also requires that 85% of the sentence be served.
