A trial date has now been set for the man accused of murdering a 67-year-old Nevada County man about a year ago. In its filing of the charges, the District Attorney’s office stated that Schuller shot William Tackett 13 times before setting the body, and the home, on Banner View Drive, on fire. An exact motive has not been revealed. Schuller had been staying at the home for several weeks. Newell slays the trial could take around 5 weeks…

Schuller is also charged with reckless evasion of a peace officer. After the killing, authorities say he sped away in a car and led officers on a three-county pursuit before being taken into custody.
