Truck Fire on Hwy 49 at Brunswick Rd.

A possible road rage incident on Hwy 49 yesterday around 4:15 pm is still under investigation.  Before the crash a driver had called 911 to report the driver of a white truck was brandishing a weapon, tailgating and driving erratically. The white truck which was traveling southbound on Hwy 49 then was observed traveling up an embankment just north of the Brunswick road overpass and the truck caught fire.The driver of the truck is considered a person of interest and he attempted to flee the scene on foot following the fiery crash, but officers on scene subdued him and he was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial hospital.  The extent of his injuries was not known. The driver and passenger in another vehicle were not injured.
