The Truckee CHP and Police Department have been busy with a number of arrests involving the transportation of marijuana for sale. The most recent a relatively small amount compared to two relatively larger busts in the last week. Monday afternoon and CHP officer on patrol on I 80 saw a driver without a seat belt. Officer Peter Mann says the sergeant initiated a traffic stop.
Fifteen pounds is not much when compared to an arrest made Saturday afternoon when an officer working speed detail on I80 in Central Truckee spotted a vehicle pulling a trailer going a bit too fast.

The marijuana hidden between the outer wall and the inner wall of the trailer. A loose piece of plywood allowed for the officer to see a portion of the marijuana.
Last Thursday, Truckee PD also made an arrest following a vehicle stop with almost 150 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale hidden in the vehicle.
I80 is a corridor from California to points east and is used by drug traffickers to transport illegal drugs out of California to other parts of the country.
