Truckee Police followed a lead and were able to catch a mail thief and burglary suspect and restored Christmas to the victims.  Captain Rob Leftwich says, the suspect, a juvenile, had stolen a number of pieces of mail as well as items from several sheds and out buildings in the Glenshire neighborhood of Truckee.

Several police officers reviewing the case recognized the activity was similar to earlier crimes committed by a suspect in the area. The officers made contact with the suspect.

The incident serves as a reminder to everyone to be cautious about sending cash or gift cards in the mail and to be sure to empty the mailbox every day to help dissuade any potential thieves.
