Truckee Tobaccoo Sellers following Law

The Truckee Police says local merchants are following the law. Police detective Sergeant Jason Lithie says a recent sting operation by the Police Department had surprising results. Sergeant Lithie says officers sent several underage minors into seventeen business in the town to purchase cigarettes.

The Sergeant says the sting has shown the enforcement need not be a high priority. He says the two stores involved were contacted an provided a education program about the sales of cigarettes to minors. The Sergeant says the local businesses are doing a great job.
