Turkey Hunter Bit by Coyote

A turkey hunter got more than he bargained for when he was bitten by a coyote. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a hunter was calling turkey on Clover Valley Road, in the south county, Saturday morning. The Sheriff says as he was making the calls a large coyote approached the hunter.

Fish and Wildlife wardens searched the area for the animal. The hunter was treated at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for the bite.

Turkey season is from March 30 til early to mid-May in the local area.
