Two Arrested After Stolen Car Recovered in Grass Valley

Last Friday, July 29th a Grass Valley resident reported that her 2001 Toyota Sequoia had been stolen during the evening hours while it was parked in the municipal parking lot on South Church St. Grass Valley Police Captain Steve Johnson says since that time local officers have been looking for the vehicle.

He followed it a short distance and was able to conduct a traffic stop and detained two male subjects who were inside the vehicle.

The passenger, 25 year old Steven Hunter from Grass Valley was in possession of a backpack that contained Heroin, Drug Paraphernalia and a Hypodermic Syringe. He was arrested for possession of a narcotic substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle, which did not appear to be damaged since the theft, was returned to the owner.
