Two Arrested For Stealing Mail

Tax season also often means a spike in mailbox theft. Two people were recently arrested, after a traffic stop on Brunswick Road. Nevada County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Pettit says officers found about 25 pieces of mail under the seat of the vehicle that had been taken from a row of mailboxes along the road. Pettit says the pair was also in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and Bruce was also wanted in Plumas County on a battery charge. Pettit says the two had also stolen a registration tag from another vehicle that they stuck on the license plate of their vehicle, because their registration was expired.
