Two individuals were arrested by members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force for alleged drug possession and being under the influence in Nevada City early Thursday morning. Sheriff’s Sgt. Guy Selleck says a third individual not involved in the case answered the door when officers served a search warrant at the Crescent Drive residence.

The suspects, Megan Taylor, 28 of Grass Valley and Jacob Shimnoski, 22, of Nevada City were detained while officers searched the residence. Officers located just over 4 grams of methamphetamine, varying quantities of methadone, methamphetamine smoking pipes, hydromorphone, and numerous hypodermic syringes.
Shimnoski and Taylor were taken into custody and charged with suspected possession of a controlled substance and associated paraphernalia, and being under the influence. both suspects were booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional facility.
