A driver parked in a local Grass Valley fast food restaurant ended up going to jail after nodding off at the wheel. Grass Valley Police Lt. Alex Gammelgard says shortly before 5:00 PM officers and emergency responders were summoned to a business in the Brunswick Basin.

The man, later identified as 25 year old Eric Murphy did have a pulse and was breathing so he was prepared for transport to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. While being treated a small quantity of suspected heroin was located on the Murphy who was on Post Release community Supervision. Once medically cleared, Murphy was booked for possession of and being under the influence of a controlled narcotic as well as violation of his early release terms.

Earlier in the day a Grass Valley police officer was called to a domestic violence situation on French Street where it was reported a female was being kicked by a male . Upon arrival the officer witnessed a male and female in a physical confrontation.

20 year old Keith Jackson was taken into custody for felony domestic violence, violation of a restraining order, and violation of post release supervision.
