Two Calls To Sheriff Do Not End As Anticipated

A 911 call put sheriff’s deputies on alert for a possible dead or badly injured body in North San Juan Thursday, but when they arrived on the scene it was not what they expected to find. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says deputies realized something wasn’t right while they were talking to the caller, Greg Neal.

Neal was taken into custody for being under the influence and possession of methamphetamine.

In a separate incident, what started out as a request for deputies to talk to a subject ended up with an arrest in Penn Valley. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the incident began when the subject Roy Montgomery took a swing at the reporting party.
