Two CHP Incidents Lead to Arrests

Two separate incidents over the weekend involving the CHP ended with the suspects going to jail. The first incident was a hit and run accident on Ridge Road Saturday. Shortly before 1:00 PM Officer Greg Tassone says a vehicle driving on Ridge Road lost control and went off the side of the road. The driver swerved back on to the road hitting the car that had been behind it.

The driver of the car, Phillip Davis, started to exchange information with the second driver when he all of a sudden fled the scene.

A CHP officer stopped Davis about a half mile from the original scene and he was taken into custody for hit and run, suspicion of DUI and an additional charge was added after he was in custody.

Vehicle theft was added to Phillip Davis’s charges after being booked intop the Wyyne Brown Correctional Facility.

The second incident occurred on Sunday in the Penn Vallley area whie a CHP officer was doing routine speed enforcement on Highway 20. The suspect, David Everton, riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed tried to elude the officer*

Unfortunately for Everton, his motorcycle began experiencing some mechanical issues.

It was discovered that Everton had a 3000 dollar warrant for his arrest as well as evading a peace officer and driving on a suspended license.
