Two Fires Saturday Raise Concerns

A structure fire between 1/4 and 1/2 acre in Peardale Saturday afternoon. Around 3:00 PM ground and air units responded to Hwy 174 across from Meadow Drive to reports of a single structure involved with some extension to the wildland. Ground resources reported power lines down.
174 was partially blocked and eventually closed while units attacked the blaze. Traffic on 174 was rerouted for several hours and one way traffic controls were also in place until after 8:30 PM.
One structure was lost.
Fire is under investigation.

A fire in Penryn  broke out while units were battling the Meadow incident on Highway 174. Air support was shifted to the fire burning on Delmar Avenue near Sierra College Blvd. The Delmar incident was contained to 4 acres by 4:25 PM.  Reports of an unidentified remote control drone flying over the Delmar fire caused concerns for air support in the area.
One structure was lost. Train traffic was delayed bvecause the burning structure was close to railroad tracks.
Fire is under investigation.
