Two Injured in House Fire

Two people had to be rescued from a house fire in the Grass Valley area that occurred late Friday afternoon on Carey Drive off of Ridge road. When the first units arrived they reported the house as 50 to 75 percent involved in flames.   There was lots of smoke inside and the fire was burning through the attic space and into living areas of the residence. One victim escaped the fire and was able to make it out of the residence, but the second victim was trapped in a bathroom and had to be rescued by firefighters. Both occupants required medical treatment and were taken to a landing area at Lyman Gilmore to be flown by Cal Star and Reach medical helicopters to UC Davis burn center.
