Two Men Face Felonies For Firing Off Explosives

Royal says the men claimed they were working for a pyrotechnic company, but they admitted they had no license or permits. He says they also hadn’t contacted the fire department, although they had tried to take steps to make sure no fires were started…

Royal says a pipe bomb-like device was also removed safely by a bomb squad from Placer County that had been inside the mens’ vehicle. 21-year-old Corey Hunter, from the Los Angeles area, and 23-year-old Lake Phillips, from Martinez, were taken into custody.
