Two homeless people from Grass Valley who’ve been arrested are suspected in several burglaries and thefts that go back several weeks. Police Sergeant Clint Bates says the case started with the investigation of a commercial break-in Saturday afternoon that happened on Idaho Maryland Road…
Bates says they then stopped by some second-hand and pawn shops…
Bates says they found the two suspects Sunday night during a traffic stop on Richardson Street for an expired registration. In the vehicle, they found some of the tools from the commercial burglary, along with a backpack filled with electronic items, including two computers. There were also burglary tools. 28-year-old Crystal Ashley and 31-year-old Johnathane Bancroft were taken into custody. Bates says two debit cards were also found, with at least one having been used several times. And they also just recently linked some items in the vehicle to a fire station in Placer County.
