Somebody is probably upset they are not going to receive a birthday gift from a couple that was stopped in Auburn for a vehicle violation. Placer County Sheriff Information Officer Dena Erwin says a deputy that happened to have a narcotics dog on board when he stopped the vehicle found an item of interest after discovering the driver was on searchable probation.

Donald David Owen, 46, of Oakdale and Sarah Marie Bastin, 43, of Modesto, were booked at the Placer County Jail on charges of sales and transportation of a controlled substance, plus conspiracy. Owen is being held on $280,000 bail and Bastin’s bail is set at $250,000
