The embezzlement of a huge amount of money has been uncovered from the cash booth at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station. Nevada County District Attorney Cliff Newell says the theft was discovered by a Waste Management Investigator and prompted a more thorough audit.
Waste Management officials handed over their documents to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and investigators determined crimes had been committed.
The two suspects that were charged are Randall Lee Gassaway Jr. and Christoffer Joshua Howie.
And Newell says between the two of them, there is a lot of cash missing.
And one more interesting thing.
The Sheriff’s Office has arrest warrants for Gassaway and Howee, but so far they have not been brought into custody.
