Unemployment Rate Barely Changes In Nevada Co

Just a slight drop in Nevada County’s unemployment rate. At 3.8% in May, that was down a-tenth-of-a-point from April. But it was down six-tenths-of-a-point from a year ago and is still the 15th lowest rate among the state’s 58 counties. The Employment Development Department says the biggest monthly job gain was in the Government sector, at 120. The biggest drop was 670 jobs in the Leisure and Hospitality sector. Meanwhile, California’s jobless rate fell to a record-tying low of 4.7%. Eight of California’s 11 industry sectors added jobs in May.
