United Way Hosts Day of Action to Benefit Local Nonprofits

By Ashlyn Rhodes

United Way of Nevada County is gearing up to host its Day of Action on June 18.  The local group’s executive director, Megan Timpany, says the national day of service benefits both nonprofits, and the community as a whole.  Volunteers and businesses sign up to help out a local nonprofit with a specific project such as filing, painting, gardening, building, or organizing.

This will be the 7th annual event.

Timpany says it’s a great way for people to get involved and help out their community in a more personal, physical way.  Even if the business you work for is not participating in the event, or you’re retired, Timpany still encourages everyone to get involved.
