The United Way of Nevada County is re-focusing its mission to support the needs of Nevada County. The new mission statement was developed during a recent strategic planning sessions.
United Way Administrative Assistant, Donna Cobb, says the organization will continue its work on Impact Areas- Education, Income, and Health.
The intent of the new mission and focus is to expand collaborations, identify gaps in services, and provide ways to fill the gaps.
Focus groups are forming to address food insecurity, emergency housing and access to healthcare, and will begin meeting in January.
Last year the United Way contributed $50,000 from its Community Impact Fund to just support the basic need for food.
