Unsafe Passing Causes North San Juan Accident

One driver was taken to the hospital after a accident in North San Juan, Monday. CHP Public Information Officer Dina Hernandez says the accident happened on Highway 49 at Tyler Foote Road, when 57 year old North San Juan man driving a 1997 Chevrolet tried to pass a 2002 Saturn driven by a 73 year old woman also from North San Juan.

The woman was making a turn when the driver of the Chevrolet tried to pass her in the intersection. The female in the Saturn sustained injures that required her to be taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
