As COVID cases are on the rise in Nevada County, and news of a vaccine on the way, Nevada County medical professionals are hoping it may be here in the next couple of weeks. President and CEO if Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Dr. Brian Evans, says the target date is early-mid December.

Evans says the vaccines are being reviewed by the national agencies, but he too, will be doing a secondary review before he makes his final reccomendations.

Even though the vaccine may arrive soon, it will be some time before it will be available to the general public. Health care workers, first responders, and seniors citizens living in congregate living facilities will have first priority.
