Vegetation Fire Burning Near Truckee

A vegetation fire burning near Truckee has charred about 60 acres, but no structures are in its path. The fire broke out before 3 o’clock this afternoon near Interstate 80 and Hirschdale Road, and is burning in steep terrain near Boca Dam. As of 5:30pm, Smoke was visible from the freeway, but the Highway Patrol reports traffic is normal. Union Pacific is holding train traffic at Boca Springs, and the Boca Springs campground has been evacuated as a precaution.
