Fire Off McCourtney Rd Halted At 25 Acres

A vegetation fire off McCourtney Road near Camp Far West scorched around 25 acres this (Mon.) afternoon before its progress was halted, according to CalFire Captain Jeff Fuentes…

That was near Perimeter Road. Fuentes says since it was not a very populated area it will likely be hard to figure out what sparked the blaze…

Fuentes says there was an initial report of a structure threatened, but it was quickly mitigated. The Higgins and Penn Valley fire departments also assisted, along with one air attack, three air tankers, a helicopter, and eleven engines.
