Charges have now been formally filed against the six men linked to the vehicle-to-vehicle shooting death of a woman in Grass Valley earlier this month. And, as expected, only one of the men is facing prosecution for murder. Walsh says that means Richard faces a potential maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. It’s still being investigated whether the suspects are gang members. Five are from Dallas and one is from Shreveport, Louisiana. Walsh says the victim, 36-year-old Shanta Olsen, and another man, first met the suspects in Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln about a month prior…
Meanwhile, Walsh says the other five suspects are facing conspiracy charges. That would normally mean a maximum sentence of no more than nine years in prison. But he says three have a prior strike for a serious or violent felony, which doubles their legal liability to 18 years.
