Vehicle Violation Leads to Another Possession Arrest

A local woman familiar to law enforcement was taken into custody for drug related charges following a vehicle stop early Tuesday morning.
Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal tells KNCO that a deputy spotted a vehicle with no visible license plate and initiated a traffic stop for speeding and potential expired registration. The deputy recognized the female driver as 45 year old Michelle Meyer and was aware she did not have a valid driver’s license so ran a records check.

The deputy had the driver get out of the vehicle and asked if he could search the vehicle. Meyer gave her permission.

Meyer had a little over 3/4 of a gram of methamphetamine and two pieces of heroin totaling almost 4 grams. Meyer was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for possession charges as well as the license and registration issues.
