Vehicle Violations Leads to Drug and Warrant Arrests

More vehicle violations lead to felony arrests in Nevada County…
A 26 year old male arrested for allegedly selling heroin and multiple warrants out of Placer,  Sacramento and Nevada County. The incident began when a Grass Valley police officer spotted a vehicle with a tail light violation early Saturday morning. However, the driver did not initially pull over.

It also appeared that the driver was reaching over to the back seat.

Once the driver was contacted it was learned he had a number of warrants.

Tunnell,-Andrew1Grass Valley Sgt. Joe Matteoni says after taking the suspect, Andrew Tunnell, 26, of Grass Valley, into custody for the warrants, officers searched his vehicle.*

Tunnell was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for possession of heroin for sale, paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and the nine warrants.

Matteoni says that both arrests were made because an officer initiated a traffic stop after spotting simple vehicle violations.
