Vehicle with Body Found Off Highway 20

A Caltrans employee spotted a vehicle down the embankment in the Mooney Flat Road area off of Highway 20 that is connected to the missing Beale Air Force Base Airman that KNCO reported at 330.  CHP Public Information Officer Marc Morrison provided us this information just after 330.

The Sheriff’s Department has now confirmed it is the missing vehicle, with a body is inside. At this time it no longer appears suspicious.
Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputies along with military personnel had been searching for a missing Beale Air Force Airman, Ayaz Ali, in the Mooney Flat Area. Ali went missing sometime Thursday.  Captain Jeff Powell provided this information as of 320 this afternoon.

Ali had been reported missing by family members that reside in the Lake Wildwood area.
The body had not yet been identified and the accident remains under investigation.
