Veterans Stand Down at Nevada County Fairgrounds

It’s a place where veterans of America’s military can get services, and in many occasions, the only time they get these services. The Nevada County All Veterans Stand Down will be held this weekend at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, starting tomorrow (Friday). Many of the veterans who are likely to attend are homeless, but find there way in, where there are social services, public and mental health services, and even haircuts. Emergency food, clothing, medical transportation, and financial assistance can also be found. Buck says you don’t have to have served in combat to attend, and even if your discharge wasn’t honorable, there’s help for you too…

The stand down is from 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday and 8:30 to 2:30 Saturday. Also, Gold Country Transit will have ‘Free Fare Days’ Friday and Saturday, where you can ride all routes for free.
