VFW Post 2655 serves families in need at Christmas

The Nevada City Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Nevada County Veterans Stand Down Committee did something new this year to help more families with Children to have a Merry Christmas. Will Buck is the VFW Post 2655 Commander and President of the Nevada County Veteran Stand down Board . He says they reached out more this year to provide food and presents for 25 children and 13 adultsĀ .

Several Veterans and Paulette of Paulette’s Country Kitchen made donations and they had over $2,000 dollars to shop for the families .

The Food Bank of Nevada County was also able to provide some donated food for the families in need.
The Toys and food were given out at a party at the Nevada City Veteran’s building on Tuesday December 20th. In a partnership with the Forest Service Buck says the VFW Post has also been able to get some fresh Christmas trees cut and donated for the families.
