A public hearing will be done virtual-style today to get comments on a traffic modification proposal for downtown Grass Valley. In an area known as ‘The Triangle’, the Nevada County Transportation Commission is seeking a grant to make the area bordered by Tinloy Street, Highway 174, and Hansen Way, an elongated roundabout on both sides of the Golden Center Freeway. N-C-T-C Executive Director Dan Landon says some traffic signals would be removed, and there would be other improvements to make things easier and safer for people walking, cycling, and driving…

The current configuration is well over 50 years old. Two one-hour ‘Zoom’ meetings are happening today, one at 2pm and the other this evening at 6. Landon says they’ll take public comment, but there will also be a presentation…
The commission is pursuing a grant for the project, and is hoping to find out about the funding later this year. Questions can be submitted by e-mail to nctc@nccn.net. Links to participate in the webinar can also be requested that way.

that is one ugly mess I'd rather they leave it alone then have to drive all over the place to get to downtown from Auburn St. Why not one big circle on the Hennesy school side of the freeway overpass
