In these times of social distancing, you can’t even have crowds at Memorial Day ceremonies. So, this year’s services will be done virtually. American Legion Frank Gallino Post 130 Commander Claude Hessel says the idea came from KNCO a couple of weeks ago during KNCO Insight with Tom Fitzsimmons…
The program will be very similar to the normal one at Memorial Park or the Grass Valley Veterans Building. There will be some recorded speeches and presentations, and the usual music…
The post celebrated its hundredth anniversary last year, and there will be portions of that program played to honor local World War Two veterans, Hessel says there will even be the traditional three-gun volley and salute, and the playing of Taps, but that will be a little diferent than what is normally done….
The ceremony will be Monday at 11am, and broadcast live on KNCO.
