Today is Thanksgiving and it is traditionally a day of food, family football, and of course the Annual Mike E Bratton II Turkey Trot. Usually, 1500 to 2000 participants gather at Nevada Union High School to participate in the 10 or 5 k Run and Walk. But this year, like everything else, the MEB Turkey Trot has gone virtual. However, the tradition of handing out the event T-Shirt on the day before Thanksgiving still took place. The Bratton Family and a number of volunteers handing out T-shirts to registered participants for two hours Wednesday afternoon.
There are no extra T-shirts this year because the Bratton’s want to make sure that all of entry fees go towards Anew Day Counseling Services and Nevada Union High School athletic programs. This year’s shirt is special.
Along with the Bratton’s, young Max McClennan was helping with the distribution process.
The virtual format allows participants to run or walk the 5 or 10k on any course at any time. Mike says its really about being thankful.
