Volunteer Docent Open Houses At State Parks

State parks are gearing up for the recreation season. And that means they need docents and volunteers. Senior Park Aide Debbie Pfanner says open houses are being held on Saturday….from 11am to 1pm at South Yuba River State Park and from 1 to 3pm at Malakoff Diggins State Park…

Two-day volunteer training courses will be offered on Friday, March 11th, from 5:30 to 8:30pm, and Saturday, March 12th, from 9am to 1pm, and then the following weekend at those same times. There is a 10-dollar charge for criminal background processing. Meanwhile, the first of the wildflower walks at South Yuba River State Park is scheduled for Sunday, but will not take place if it’s raining.
