Volunteer To Work at State Parks in County

Nevada County’s three state parks are looking for volunteers, and there will be volunteer training this weekend. Over 400 volunteers are used at Empire Mine, South Yuba River, and Malokoff Diggins State Parks. Park Ranger Greg Sherr works at Empire Mine. He says over 250 volunteers there do a little of everything.

There are over a hundred volunteers at South Yuba River, and about 25 at Malokoff Diggins. The volunteer training is Saturday from 9am to 1pm. If you are interested, you can call Empire Mine State Park at 273-8522, or South Yuba River State Park at 432-2546.
