The Grass Valley Police Department is making continual positive changes to its services and in turn is now improving facilities. The latest project is a collaboration between volunteers and the community. Police Chief John Foster says the volunteers stepped up to re-make the multi-use community room.

Foster says because there isn’t any money for an office remake, the volunteers spurred on by Bill Drown, took on the project soliciting donations from B and C for paint and Young’s Carpet for flooring. The project is scheduled for completion this Friday.

Chief Foster says that volunteers are instrumental to the success of department initiatives and positive service. He says the 14 volunteers are part of the Police Department family doing everything from court runs, vacation checks, and a number other tasks.

The Chief says that remaking the community room is an example of going above the call of duty of a volunteer.
