With changes coming to the way Nevada County will be holding elections next year, the Clerk-Recorder’s Office and Elections Department are holding a public meeting tonight. The meeting will allow for public review of what’s called the ‘Draft Elections Administration Plan’. Beginning in 2018, every registered voter in Nevada County will automatically receive a vote by mail ballot. Voters that decide if they’d rather vote in person, they can do so at one of a handful of ‘vote centers’ in the county, instead of a traditonal polling place. Public input was gathered on where the vote centers should be, and other necessary changes, and all of that was put into the plan. The meeting is from 6 to 7:30pm at the Rood Center, in the Board of Supervisors chambers.
