Wandering Kids and Alcohol Lead to Arrests

A mother who thought her children were at home did not realize her three-year-old and six-year-old boys had actually left the house looking for her. According to Sheriff Keith Royal a call came in around 11:30 PM Saturday reporting the two boys were sighted on the side of Highway 174. Deputies picked up the children and made contact with the mother, Lara Lee Bradford 43, at the residence.

Deputies determined that Bradford had been driving under the influence when she left the home and she was taken into custody for Driving under the influence for the third time within 10 years,  willful harm to children for leaving them alone, and driving on a suspended license.

In another family matter involving alcohol, a mother called the sheriff’s office to report her 16 year old daughter had been given alcohol. When deputies arrived the teenage girl did not divulge who had provided her with the alcohol and the deputies took a report and departed. A short while later deputies were called to return to the house on a report of an assault.

The sheriff says that unfortunately the situation had gone bad and the mother was taken to into custody for inflicting corporal punishment on her daughter.
