Washington Ridge Escapee Captured

An inmate at Washington Ridge Conservation Camp has been captured, less than a day after he escaped from the facility. 21 year-old Cristian Heredia was found around 7:20 last night in Santa Rosa. According to authorities, Heredia disappeared from his assigned bed area early yesterday morning. He was committed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in August from Sonoma County for robbery, and assigned to an inmate firefighting crew in Nevada City. Heredia be taken to the California Correctional Center in Susanville and is no longer a candidate for a conservation camp. He was scheduled for release in July 2018.
