Water Storage Up but Snowpack Down

Water storage for the Nevada Irrigation District is in good shape, but this year’s snowpack is below where it should be. According to NID Operations Manager, Sue Sindt,

On the other side of the coin, snowpack levels are not very good.

With such a dry January, February, and March Sindt says it could be much worse.

With high storeage capacity but low snowpack Nevada county is in good shape for this year, but next year might be challenging.

Sindt says there is a possibility of some late season snow; and though we are ok for this year, taking measures to conserve water is always a good idea.
